PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of water required for rice cooking, and also, reduce the total steam amount emitted to the atmosphere from a rice cooker main body by recovering steam which is discharged from the rice cooker main body, and returning the steam into the pot. SOLUTION: This rice cooker is equipped with a lid having a steam outlet 4 which covers the upper surface opening of the main body 1 and discharges steam. Then, the steam which is discharged to the outside of the rice cooker for one time is recovered, and the recovered steam is returned into the pot during the rice cooking. In the rice cooker which performs such a rice cooking, a hood 7 is provided for a steam-recovering unit 6 which recovers the steam.
