PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a weeding apparatus and a rotary weeding mechanism capable of reducing load of weeding operation. SOLUTION: This weeding apparatus A is equipped with a riding part 30 at the rear side of a self-propelled part 10 so as to make the self-propelled part pull the riding part in a weeding apparatus which is furnished with the self-propelled part 10 traveling by itself by rotating a wheel 12 by the drive of a driving source 11 and a weeding part 40 connected to a part closer to the front than an axes 13 of the self-propelled part 10 and carries out a weeding operation while traveling the self-propelled part 10. This rotary weeding mechanism 44 comprises a scraping out face 44b-1 side of a vane part 44b formed in a recessed state, a lower side piece part 44b-2 of the vane part 44b formed in a projected curved state so as to be brought into contact with the soil surface, rotates a rotary base part 44a by bringing the lower side piece part into contact with the soil surface and stirs and scrapes out soil by the vane part 44b.
