PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a press having a counterbalance and capable of adjusting the stroke of a slide. SOLUTION: The press comprises first and second sliders 34 and 40 arranged on a frame 14 movably in the vertical direction with a space therebetween in the vertical direction, a connection 32 for connecting the first slider to an offset part of a crank shaft 16, a pair of first link pieces which are a pair of first link pieces 36a and 36b pivotably connected to each other in a bendable manner with one and the other thereof are pivotably connected to the first and second sliders, respectively, a pair of second link pieces which are a pair of second link pieces 38a and 38b pivotably connected to each other in a bendable manner with one and the other thereof pivotably connected to a slide 20 and a counterbalance 56, respectively, and a position adjusting mechanism 42 for adjusting the height position of the second slider in the vertical direction, and either of the first link pieces is extended to a tip side from a pivotably connecting point to the other, and pivotably connected to the second link piece.
