PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winder for an elevator capable of attaining the cooling action of a motor without increasing the outer shape and without generating noise. SOLUTION: The output shaft 2 of the motor is provided with a drive sheave 3 and a rotor 4 serving as a vital section of the motor. A plurality of blast vanes 9 are formed into an arm shape between a boss 10 and a rim-like section 11 of the rotor 4. At a vertical operation of the elevator, a blast action is generated to cool the motor by the rotation of the blast vanes 9 due to the rotation of the motor. An electric fan protruded from the motor is not required, the winder can be miniaturized, a required installation space is reduced, and installation is facilitated. The blast noise in cooling the motor is reduced, and the installation environment of the elevator is kept silent.
