PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool capable of properly holding a work having various sectional shapes. SOLUTION: The machine tool is provided with a body 11 driven rotationally around an axis CT2 and at least two slide members 21 and 22 are situated movably radially based on an axis through slide member drive means 19 and 20. A work grasping member 25 is situated at each slide member movably together with the slide member. A plurality of work holding rods 25g are movably situated in a driving manner in a radial direction centering around an axis. It is practicable that a work 7 is held through a part machined in various shapes by the work holding rod 25g. Machining of a work having other machining sectional shape than a circular shape is practicable without using any nail in a state that a modified cross-section machined part is grasped. Thus, machining of a first and a second process is continuously practicable by a single machine tool as a work is delivered between main spindles and a machining work is practicable with remarkably high efficiency.
