PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding nozzle(SN) plate having sufficient durability in which the generation of crack around a flowing hole is effectively restrained without sacrificing the characteristic on the material originally possessed in the plate material and the generation of breakage of a surrounding edge of the flowing hole is reduced even under severe condition. SOLUTION: Slits opened on a sliding surface around the molten metal flowing hole in the sliding nozzle plate brick, are arranged. This slit has a structure having 5-50 mm distance (a) from the surrounding edge of the flowing hole, 0.1-5 mm width (b) of the slit, and 5-80% of d as a depth (c) from the sliding surface of the slit to the thickness (d) of the plate brick except a projecting part, and arranging one or more positions.
