PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lower toxic insecticidal compound exhibiting excellent effect on chemical-resistant pest insects without substantially causing injury to beneficial insects, an intermediate for producing the same and an insecticide composition containing the same as an effective ingredient. SOLUTION: This indole derivative is expressed by formula (2) (wherein X denotes CH, N, or a C-halogen; Y denotes H, an alkyl, an alkoxy, a halogen, cyano, nitro, a haloalkyl, a haloalkoxy, a haloalkenyl or a haloalkynyl). 1-(3- Chloro-5-triflurormethylpyridin-2-yl)indole, 3-(dichlorofluoromethylthio)-5- fluoroindole are cited as examples.
