PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inactivating Protozoa which precisely judges the extent of inactivation of Protozoa, further, optimizes treatment conditions in accordance with the judgement result and is efficient and effective. SOLUTION: By getting rid of infectivity of Protozoa in an object to be treated, the pathogenicity to men and beasts can be made adiaphorous and a hygienical counter technology can be established thereby. The infectivity of Protozoa can be removed by the UV ray treatment of low dose rate. By precisely digitizing the extent of the infectivity to cultured cells of cyst or oocyst of Protozoa and using the same as an indication, the treatment conditions required for the inactivation can be optimized.
