Reversible electrochemical cells based on organic- inorganic hybrid electrodes formed from a conducting organic polymer and an active inorganic type. The present invention describes electrochemical cells one of whose electrodes is an organic-inorganic hybrid adduct. The said cells are formed of a lithium metal anode or a lithium insert anode, an electrolyte and a hybrid cathode. These hybrid electrodes are composed of an electronic conducting type of polymer matrix doped with inorganic compounds with oxidation-reduction capability; the adduct has good conductivity and processability of the polymer and the redox and reversibility properties of the inorganic component. A variety of the said cells uses two different hybrid electrodes with which the use of a lithium metal anode is avoided. Applications: Efficient energy storage. Batteries for electrical traction of vehicles and power supply of household electrical appliances. Catalysts, electrocatalysis. Sensors. <IMAGE> |
