The invention relates to a device and method for precision casting of wax moulded parts. The inventive device consists of a plasticising injection screw (1) which can rotate in a screw cylinder (2) and move axially in order to inject wax, in addition to an injection moulding tool (3) into which melted wax is injected. The inventive device is characterised by means for cooling the plasticising injection screw (1). Said means consist of an inner borehole (4) that is incorporated into the plasticising injection screw (1) in addition to feedlines (5) and discharge lines (6) for a preferably liquid coolant. The invention is further characterised by a cooling head (7) that is arranged between the plasticising injection screw (1) and the injection moulding tool (3) and which cools the wax coming from the vicinity of the plasticising injection screw (1) by means of a preferably liquid coolant, before the wax enters the injection moulding tool (3).
