PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate dry up of ink while enhancing the image quality and the light-fastness by adding a coloring matter acceptant polymer represented by a specified formula, and one kind or more of inorganic pigment into a coating layer. SOLUTION: The ink jet image recording medium comprises a coating layer formed on a support. The coating layer contains a coloring matter acceptant polymer represented by a formula (where, R1 , R2 and R3 represent independently a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group in the form of a direct chain or a branch, L represents a bivalent bonding group, and p represents 0 or 1) and one kind or more of inorganic pigment. At least one kind of the inorganic pigments is an alumina pigment or a silica pigment. When these pigments are added into the coating layer, the coating layer can be rendered porous and ink can be absorbed quickly. Consequently, the image quality is enhanced and the ink can be prevented from being transferred to a superposed paper or other object. |
