<p>A method and machine for forming orderly groups (3) of rolls (2) of paper, whereby a number of rolls (2) are arranged in at least one layer (4) defined by at least one row (5) defined by at least one roll (2), and whereby the rolls (2) are fed successively in a first direction (8) to a loading station (14) to form a succession of rows (5), each of which is defined by a given adjustable number (k) of rolls; the rows (5) being unloaded successively from the loading station (14) on to a conveyor (15) in a second direction (16) crosswise to the first (8) to form, on the conveyor (15), a succession of adjacent rows (5); and a given adjustable number (n) of the adjacent rows (5) being unloaded off the conveyor (15) in the first direction (8) to form a layer (4), which is subsequently stacked with a given adjustable number (h) of other layers (4) to form a group (3). <IMAGE></p> |
