<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-insoluble dispersion medium low in flammability and excellent in the performance of a cutting fluid prepared from this dispersion medium composition. SOLUTION: This water-insoluble dispersion medium composition is an ingot cutting abrasive grain dispersion medium and has a water content of 1-20 wt.%. Preferably, it contains one or more additives selected from a water retention agent, a swelling agent, a rust preventive, a nonferrous metal corrosion inhibitor, a lubricating oil additive, an anti-foaming agent and an inorganic or organic bentonite. Particularly, this composition is suitably used in cutting an ingot with a wire saw or a band saw and even from a large diameter ingot, sliced products small in ununiformity in warpage and thickness can be obtained.</p> |
