AIR BAG AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the strength and airtightness of the bonding point of an air bag easy in execution, having reliability and high in safety by bonding a first air bag part to a second air bag part by heating the polyurethane coating of an adhesion part. SOLUTION: An outer coating is formed from one layer and symmetrically divided into a right-hand first air bag part 31 and a left-hand second air bag part 32. The whole of the inside of the air bag outer coating is already coated with a polyurethane. The right hand part 31 is brought into contact with the bonding part 34 of the left-hand part 32 along an adhesion part 33. Thereafter, the adhesion part 33 and the bonding part 34 are heated to be mutually welded. Two parts 31, 32 are mutually bonded at two end parts thereof and, when upper and lower vol. regions 36, 36" are expanded, an opening is formed. Both upper and lower vol. regions 36, 36" function as an apparatus for protecting a driver of a car.
