METHOD FOR EXTRACTING SECONOGANOSIDE FROM LONICERAE FLOS

PURPOSE: A method for extracting seconoganoside from Lonicerae Flos by subjecting a Lonicerae Flos extract to column chromatography and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography is provided. The pharmaceutical composition containing the Lonicerae Flos extract as an effective active ingredient can be effectively used as a therapeutic agent for B type hepatitis. CONSTITUTION: Lonicerae Flos is extracted in a double boiling type extractor at 60 to 90deg.C for 12 to 48hr, the extract is subjected to column chromatography using a hydrophobic phenyl sepalose column(Pharmacia Co.) and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography. For an example, 120g of Lonicerae Flos is heated in distilled water at 80deg.C for 24hr, the extract is centrifuged at 8,500rpm and evaporated at 70deg.C under reduced pressure to produce 19g of a Lonicerae Flos extract. Thereafter, 2g of the extract is subjected to column chromatography and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography.
