摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quick-acting desiccant which is usable for drying foods as the quick-acting desiccant having the adsorption rate higher than that of the conventionally used material and adsorptivity similar to that of the conventionally used material and consists of a hollow fiber-like structure having such micro size that a molecule of water can enter and exit through the inside diameter. SOLUTION: This quick-acting desiccant consists of the hollow fiber-like structure having such micro size of around 0.3-1.5 nm diameter that the molecule of water can enter and exit through the inside diameter. The hollow fiber-like structure is formed from aluminum silicate. The hollow fiber-like structure is molded by using aluminum silicate particles to which any material is not added, the mixture prepared by adding a molding auxiliary such as silica gel, cement and bentonite, an organic binder such as a macromolecular fiber and starch or the like to the aluminum silicate particles or the mixture prepared by impregnating the aluminum silicate particles in a proper hydrophobic macromolecule or the like. This desiccant has a great effect as the quick-acting desiccant having the adsorption rate higher than that of the conventionally used material and adsorptivity similar to that of the conventionally used material.
