A fill limiter comprising a body (10) is arranged, in use within the inlet of a liquid storage tank. An interior partition (11) is mounted within the body (10) delimiting a passageway (13) for the liquid and a chamber (12) to house a float (14). A valve (25) is mounted above the passageway (13) and chamber (12), the valve (25) being moveable between an open and closed position, in which it engages with a seat (38). As float (14) moves vertically within chamber (12) due to the level of liquid in tank (2), it operates valve (25) via a rod (24) that is secured at its lower end to float (14). The other end of rod (24) comprises a ball (41) moving in a groove (39) formed in part (40) of the valve (25). The valve has a slot (43), which grips rod (24) when the valve (25) is in the closed position. A drainage valve assembly (36) may be mounted on the valve (25), consisting a pressure relief valve (32) and a drainage chamber (35).
