摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT system by which existence of an affection in a subject area can be accurately detected without using X-rays. SOLUTION: Additionally to an X-ray tube 104 and an X-ray detector 108, an LED 130, a conversion lens 132, a mirror 134 to direct the light from the conversion lens 132 through an aperture of a collimeter 106 toward the vicinity of a reference channel on the end part of the X-ray detector 108, and a photodetector group 136 in the vicinity of the reference channel of the X-ray detector 108 to intercept the light from the mirror 134 are equipped on the scanning gantry 103. When the scanning gantry 103 is rotated in a condition the X-ray tube 104 is de-energized and the light from the LED 130 checks a detection signal form the photodetector group 136, whether or not an affection exists in between the reference channel and X-ray tube 104 can be optically detected. The light from the LED 130 has almost no influence on the subject K.
