PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate machining by fixing a workpiece of nonuniform and complex form without a special support and the like, in a fixing device for a deformed workpiece for use in machining of a thin-walled and curved work material. SOLUTION: The fixing device, in which piping for passage of a refrigerant is arranged on the exterior of a workpiece fixing part 2 in the shape of an open bath and a refrigerant compressor is connected to the piping, has workpiece supporting parts for supporting the workpiece. A substance reversibly variable from a fluid to a solid with temperature change is poured as a fixative member 8 into the workpiece fixing part 2 where it is exposed to the melting point temperature or lower and solidified to fix the workpiece. When the workpiece is removed after machined to a desirable form in a machine tool, heating develops a return to the fluid, with the result that the workpiece of nonuniform and complex form can be obtained easily, shortly and economically.
