PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification apparatus and a purification method by which an organic material which has high boiling and melting points and contains impurities can be purified by distillation with high yield and high productivity so that the organic material has high purity. SOLUTION: This purification apparatus is provided with a vaporization part A for melting and then vaporizing the high melting point organic material and collection parts B, C for condensing/collecting the vaporized vapor. The temperature of each of the parts B, C is made lower almost stepwise or continuously as it goes toward the downstream side. At least a part of each of the parts A, B, C is constituted of a material which can be heated by electromagnetic induction heating by dielectric coils 3, 7. The interior of the apparatus to be in contact with the high melting point organic material is constituted of a material inactive on the high melting point material. The purification method to use this purification apparatus is suitable for purifying the high melting point organic material such as an organic EL material.
