PURPOSE: A device and method for automatically converting a snow tire having a spike-inserting ring is provided to conveniently change between a normal tire and the snow tire and to prevent an accident. CONSTITUTION: A device for automatically changing a snow tire containing a spike inserting ring comprises an inserting ring(41) placed on a lower portion(47) of tire; a spike(42) inserted to the inserting ring; supporting shafts(79) combined on a body(80) to move a movable bar(71) left and right; movable levers(72) formed on the movable bar; rotating push rods(74) installed on the movable bar; an electric motor(82) transmitting power ball screw(78) by generating the power through an actuator; a couple ring(81) engaging the movable bars; and a stroke moved by moving the rotational push rod toward a left side. The inserting ring is stopped on a specific position by combining a lower face of the tire and the inserting ring with a saw tooth shape. Thereby, the device for automatically changing the snow tire containing the spike-inserting ring conveniently changes between a normal tire and the snow tire.
