PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perfecting printer exhibiting a throughput comparable to that at the time of single side printing. SOLUTION: The perfecting printer comprises a print engine having a sheet carrying system including a sheet feed path for feeding a sheet from an input tray to a recording section, and an inversion path for taking in a sheet printed only on one side from the recording section and turning over the sheet before being fed again to the recording section and can process two or more sheets including a sheet to be turned over and a printing sheet simultaneously. The perfecting printer further comprises a print control means for converting received print request data into a print request structure in units of page and storing it temporarily and then generating bit image data being transferred to the print engine from the print request structure. The print control means determines a page being transferred next to the print engine after enqueuing the print request structures in the order of arrival, and transmits the bit image data of a print request structure corresponding to a page being transferred to the print engine. The page being transferred next is determined for each chance of transferring the data of a new page to the print engine. |
