PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing prenyl alcohol by culturing a recombinant prepared by transducing a recombinant DNA for expression containing HMG-CoA reductase gene, IPPΔ-isomerase gene or FPP synthase gene or mutant genes therefrom. SOLUTION: This method for producing prenyl alcohol comprises the steps of preparing a recombinant by transducing, into a host, a recombinant DNA for expression or DNA fragment for genome integration containing hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductase gene, isopentenyldiphosphate Δ-isomerase gene or farnesyldiphosphate synthase gene, or mutant genes therefrom, transcription promoter and transcription terminator to prepare a recombinant, culturing the recombinant, and collecting prenyl alcohol from the resultant culture. |
