PREVASCULARIZED POLYMERIC GRAFT FOR ORGAN TRANSPLANTATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a graft containing the number of cells required to restore the function of a lost organ and a biocompatible polymeric graft which can be grafted with cells without in vitro preliminary culture and then decomposes at a controlled rate all during the period when grafted cells form reproduction and an organ structure. SOLUTION: A matrix which is formed from a naturally occurring polymer other than collagen and is porous, elastic and nontoxic, wherein the matrix has compression resistance and tension resistance in the body in combination with a means for introducing cells into the matrix grafted to a patient and is suitable for introducing cells into the matrix and for internal growth of a blood vessel tissue and a connective tissue for producing a highly vascularized part.
