APPARATUS FOR DETECTING COOLANT FILTER AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A coolant filter detecting apparatus and a method for operating the same are provided to prevent a coolant filter from being clogged or broken by detecting pressure in the coolant filter. CONSTITUTION: A filter(30) is installed in a housing to remove impurities contained in coolant. An inlet(50) is formed at an upper portion of the housing so as to allow coolant including impurities to be introduced into the housing. An outlet(60) is formed at a lower portion of the housing so as to discharge coolant after removing impurities from coolant. A bypass section(70) is formed at an exterior of a body section(200) so as to allow coolant to pass therethrough when pressure applied to the filter(30) exceeds a predetermined level. A pressure detecting device(10) is provided to detect pressure of coolant passing through the bypass section(70). A drain valve(20) is connected to the bypass section(70) so as to discharge coolant.
