PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device by which high printing speed is attained without increasing a roller outside diameter and the surface temperature of a heating roller reaches specified temperature in a short time. SOLUTION: The heating rollers 3 and 4 abutting on recording paper 2 to which unfixed toner 5 is stuck are heated by making a heat source abut on the outside surface of metallic foil which is formed so as to come into close contact with the outer peripheral surface of an elastic body whose heat conductivity is low and that has heat resistance and whose heat capacity is small.
