PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart superior total performance with high durability and high image quality to a full color electrophotographic device with plural image carriers. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic device uses a-Si(amorphous silicon) photoreceptors as photosensitive drums (image carriers). An image of an excellent black grade can be obtained by using a high performance specified a-Si photoreceptor in a black image forming part. The formation of a full color image with very small environmental dependence and exposure memory is enabled by using photoreceptors in which each photoconductive layer contains 10-30 at.% hydrogen atoms, the characteristic energy of the trailing of an exponential function obtained from a light absorption spectrum in at least a part of the photoconductive layer on which light is incident is 50-60 meV and localized state density in the photoconductive layer is 1×1014 to <1×1016 cm-3.
