PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additional board and an additional board recognition method by using existing resources without requiring an input port for recognizing surely the additional board. SOLUTION: As for the additional board capable of adding a function to a body device by being mounted on the body device, this additional board 1 is characterized by being equipped with an inversion means 4 for inverting written data from the body device to the input side of a recognition register 2. And, as for the additional board capable of adding a function to the body device by being mounted on the body device, this additional board is characterized by being equipped with a recognition interruption signal generation means for generating an interruption signal to the body device at the power source starting time of the additional board.
