PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic unit that reduces power consumption and extends the use time of a battery without reducing the visibility of a screen and display definition. SOLUTION: The portable electronic unit is provided with a processing means (S8) processing display information including at least a character and the background of the character and a display control means (S13) displaying display information supplied by the processing means on a light emitting type display device using organic EL.
