PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the estimate accuracy of impulse response of an information transmission channel of a cellular mobile telephone. SOLUTION: In this method, a widely spreading multipath is distinguished from modestly spreading multipath to estimate the impulse response in the information transmission channel. The maximum value is used for the number the coefficients of the impulse response, thereby generating a first estimated value of the impulse response of the transmission channel. A time region spreading parameter of the transmission channel is used as a function of the actual characteristics of the transmission channel to determine the useful number of the coefficients of the impulse response of the transmission channel. The finally estimated value is generated by taking the useful number of the coefficients into consideration. |
