<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium replaceable recording and reproducing device which can be miniaturized, can perform reproduction and recording in a short time, is advantageous to weight saving and cost. SOLUTION: A first and second magazines 14 and 16 to house a tape cartridge so as to enable the insertion and takeout of the cartridge, are arranged at intervals on the right and left in the inside of a casing 12 so that their longitudinal directions are in parallel. Between the first and second magazines 14 and 16, a transportation space 17 extended along the longitudinal direction of the first and second magazines 14 and 16 is provided. A moving mechanism 20 holds the tape cartridge and moves vertically in the transportation space 17. A delivery mechanism 25 delivers the tape cartridge between the first and second magazines 14 and 16 and the moving mechanism 20. The moving mechanism 20 loads the tape cartridge in the recording/reproducing mechanism 18 provided at a place facing the lower part of the transportation space 17.</p> |
