PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote monitor system part of which can be replaced and extended relatively easily and can be updated or extended at low cost. SOLUTION: In each hall or store, camera monitor facilities CS equipped with monitor cameras C1 to C6, a monitor camera control part 32, and a Web server 34 are provided. The Web server 34 holds a monitoring program (JAVE (registered) applet). When a JAVA-applicable portable telephone gains communication access to the Web server 34, the monitoring program is downloaded. Consequently, the portable telephone serves as a monitoring terminal for the camera monitor facilities CS and make it possible to view images photographed by the monitor cameras C1 to C6.
