PURPOSE: A diesel engine is provided to increase the mixing of air and fuel according to the air flow in a combustion chamber by injecting gas with a gas injector so that exhaust gas is reduced and the fuel efficiency is improved. CONSTITUTION: A diesel engine comprises a piston(1) vertically moved in a cylinder, a cylinder head(3) whose lower part is forming a combustion chamber with the upper surface of the piston, an intake valve(5) installed at the cylinder head to control the intake air, a fuel injector(7) injecting fuel to the air inhaled into the combustion chamber by the intake valve, a gas injector(9) injecting gas to increase the mixing of the air and fuel injected by the fuel injector, and an exhaust valve(11) controlling the exhaust of the combustion gas of the air-fuel mixture whose mixing rate is increased by the gas injected by the gas injector.
