PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic preset system and method that can properly control maintaining or abort of preset contents. SOLUTION: In the automatic preset system and method that detects frequencies of receptible broadcast programs and presets each detected frequency to prescribed channels '01'-'10', the preset object channels can be designated with check boxes 3, 4 before presetting. Furthermore, the preset contents of each channel can be initialized according to a check box of an 'INITIALIZE?' column 5 before presetting.
