PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inexpensive electromagnetic wave shield materials in which the attenuation of an electric field or a magnetic field in an MIL-STD-285 rule in a high frequency band ranging from 800 MHz to 1 GHz can be set so as to be at least 80 dB and a method for manufacturing this electromagnetic wave shield materials. SOLUTION: Electromagnetic wave shield materials are constituted so that a plated coating containing at least one kind of metallic element of Fe, Co, Ni, Mn, Cu, Cr, and Zn whose coating build-up is ranging from 0.5-1000 g/m2 is formed on one face or both faces of basis materials made of metal, resin, or ceramics.
