PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color selecting electrode structure for 2 cathode-ray tube formed through a blackening process in which the work is passed through a blackening furnace in a specified atmosphere for suppressing a temperature rise of itself, free of such a conventional problem that the pitch of thin grids of an aperture grille becomes uneven. SOLUTION: The color selecting electrode structure of cathode-ray tube is formed by subjecting to a blackening process in which the work is passed through the blackening furnace, whose inlet/outlet is furnished with a cord fabric of metal for shielding the inside from the outside, which may involve such a problem that the aperture grille is ill influenced by flaws and/or burrs of the cord fabric when the electrode structure passes the inlet/outlet and the pitch of thin grids of the aperture grille becomes uneven. According to this invention, the tips of a plurality of metal pieces 2a constituting the cord fabric 2 are subjected to a bending process with a specified roundness R so that a curved surface portion is generated, and at the time of passage, the aperture grille is moved in such a condition as contacting with this mildly curving surface part, and thereby the described problem is solved.
