PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TV telephone device by which a user optionally changes the screen standard of an image being transmitted to an opposite party user during image communication and also the screen standard of the image which is transmitted from the opposite party is optionally remote-controlled. SOLUTION: Communication equipment for transmitting a digital video signal between units is provided with a means for instructing the change of horizontal and vertical pixel numbers to a digital video signal being transmitted, a means for converting an input image into digital video compression information for transmission in accordance with the horizontal and vertical pixel numbers after indicated change, a means for multiplexing control information which indicates the horizontal and vertical pixel numbers after change immediately before digital video compression information which is converted in accordance with the changed horizontal and vertical pixel numbers and a means for transmitting digital video compression information where control information is inserted. |
