PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device having complete toner replenishing ability. SOLUTION: This developing device is provided with a developing part 20 developing an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor 10 with one- component toner as a toner image, a toner cartridge 30 driven to supply the toner to the developing part, a light emitting part 26 and a light receiving part 27 detecting whether or not a toner level T in the developing part 20 is brought into contact with a supply roller 22, and a control part 33 controlling the driving of the toner cartridge 30 according to detection signals from the light emitting part 26 and the light receiving part 27. The control part 33 controls the toner amount in the developing part 20 so that the toner level T in the developing part 20 may be brought into contact with the roller 22 by the replenishment of the toner from the cartridge 30 when the toner level T is not brought into contact with the roller 22. |
