PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test cell for evaluating a liquid crystal material which hardly causes gap unevenness, is capable of precisely evaluating characteristics of the liquid crystal material and easily carries out control of the cell gap in accordance with the liquid crystal material. SOLUTION: In the test cell 1A for evaluating the liquid crystal material consisting of a pair of transparent substrates 4, 5 respectively provided with electrodes 2, 3 on the opposing surfaces and being filled with the liquid crystal material 7 between both substrates 4, 5, post spacers 13 are provided which regulate the cell gap (d) to a specified size.
