APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DESIGNATING FORWARD COMMON CHANNEL SPREADING CODE IN CDMA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for designating a forward common channel spreading code in a CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) communication system are provided to transmit packet data through a designation forward channel using a specific code when a dedicated channel is not set up in an MS(Mobile Station) and the packet data transmitted from a base station to the MS exist. CONSTITUTION: A base station transmits a control message including information for indicating a spreading code to an MS for dedicatedly designating a specific forward common channel to the MS. If a response about the control message is received, the base station transmits user data to the MS through a dedicated designation forward channel using the spreading code.
