PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly reduce the cost and shorten the operation time by eliminating the need to hold a financial institution name and branch name information file in individual ATMs, the need to replace files by the ATMs even when financial institutions and branches are integrated or discontinued, the need to check how new the contents of the financial institution name and branch name information file are by a clerk when the file is loaded, and the need to maintain the file by a clerk. SOLUTION: The financial institution name and branch name information file is held in a storage device 13 on the side of a host computer 10 of each financial institution and an automatic transaction device 1 accesses the file of the host computer 10 to obtain only information which becomes necessary for a transaction at any time, thereby eliminating the need to periodically modifying the file of the automatic transaction device 1. As another method, the host computer 10 can hold a financial institution name file and the automatic transaction device 1 can hold a branch name file. |
