PURPOSE: A unified billing system in a wireless network and a method for operating the same are provided to create one billing data per session by integrating various billing data for one data service session. CONSTITUTION: A user's wireless terminal, interworking with an MSC(Mobile Switching Center), is allocated a resource and sets up a data connection with a PDSN(Packet Data Service Node)(51). If the authentication of the wireless terminal succeeds, the PDSN transmits a start UDR(Usage Data Record) to a UDA(Usage Data Accounting system) through an accounting request message(52,53). Afterwards, the PDSN transmits an interim UDR to the UDA through an accounting request message(54). At this moment, in case that the data connection between the wireless terminal and the PDSN is released, the PDSN carries an accounting request message with a stop UDR, provided to the wireless terminal, to the UDR(55). Receiving the stop UDR contained in the accounting request message, the UDR integrates the billing data of a relevant data session, creates one billing data, and transmits the created billing data to a BDS(Billing Data Server)(56).
