ELECTROCHROMIC STRUCTURAL BODY AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical method for manufacturing an electrochromic device having a large area. SOLUTION: The electrochromic device applied on a base body 12 has an electrochromic electrode layer 20, a counter electrode layer 24 and an ion conductive layer 22 held between the layers and electrically separating the layers from each other. The ion conductive layer 22 is made almost uniform and has an inorganic upper structure containing the relating organic material and a micro structure which makes the movement of ions easy. The method for manufacturing the device includes a process of applying the ion conductive layer 22 in a solution state on the base body 12 and a process of gelating the solution.
