OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM AND REPRODUCER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium for preventing an illegal copy and to provide a reproducer for prohibiting the recording/reproducing of the illegal copy based on encoding data and also performing reproduction in additional write type and rewritable type optical recording media where a copyright is not protected. SOLUTION: More than one pit are formed to take charge of main information to be recorded in a user area and T-PP information which is recorded in a T-PP area and required for the purpose of reproducing main information. The pits are formed in accordance with the main information in its length in a track direction and in accordance with the T-PP information in its depth. Copyright protecting information by electronic watermark is buried in main information. Reproduction is limited when an optical disk by the illegal copy is loaded in the reproducer.
