PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set which can more effectively reduce electromagnetic energy absorption by a human body when the portable telephone set is used. SOLUTION: The portable telephone set 11 has an antenna 1, a transmitter 6 generating a first voice signal, a transmission circuit modulating the first voice signal, and generating and transmitting a first radio signal, a reception circuit demodulating a second radio signal inputted to the antenna 1 and reproducing a second voice signal, a receiver 9 for outputting voice corresponding to the second voice signal, a printed circuit board 5, on which the reception circuit and the transmission circuit are mounted, a shield case 4 surrounding the printed circuit board 5 so that the electromagnetic interference of the printed circuit board 5 and the antenna 1 is suppressed and having conductivity at least on a surface, a housing 10 for housing the transmitter 6, the receiver 9 and the shield case 4, and an electromagnetic wave reflection layer 11 which is formed at least in a part between the shield case 4 and the housing 10 and contains the magnetic reflection material consisting of carbonyl iron or the like.
