PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater which can compactly and neatly house the exothermic body that is longer and larger than the outer case. SOLUTION: The heater is constructed of (a) an outer case (1) that has an exothermic body housing space (3) of non-oxidation atmosphere inside and is formed with an airtight sealing part (2) at the side end part, (b) a heat resistant insulating rod (10), that is provided in the exothermic body housing space (3), (c) an exothermic body (4) made of carbon fiber that is housed in the above exothermic body housing space (3) and wound into a spiral form on the above heat resistant insulating rod (10), and (d) a power supply part (6) of which a part, is embedded in the airtight sealing part (2); and one end is connected to the top end of the exothermic body (4), and the other end is led out to the outside from the airtight sealing part (2).
