SOLUTION: A storing device provided with a recordable and/or re-recordable recording medium having a read-in area, a read-out area and a user data area and a cartridge provided with a case for housing the recording medium is characterized in that the recording medium stores recording preventing information for protecting the data recorded on the recording medium from being recorded or erased which is not desired and consists of the medium satisfying any one standard of DVD, DVD-RAW, DVD-RW or DVD-R.
