PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent irregular electrification in a longitudinal direction which is apt to occur when the image of a specified pattern is continuously formed in a magnetic brush electrifier. SOLUTION: A magnetic brush 24 is constituted on the surface of an electrifying sleeve 23 by restricting magnetic particles by a magnet 22. In a state where the magnetic brush 24 is brought into contact with the surface of a photoreceptor drum, the sleeve 23 is rotated in a direction shown by an arrow R2, and electrification bias is applied to the magnetic brush 24 so as to electrify the surface of the photoreceptor drum. A screw 26 for stirring the magnetic particles is provided in an electrification container 21. The screw 26 is disposed in the longitudinal direction of the sleeve 23 in the vicinity of the sleeve 23. The magnetic brush 24 is prevented from getting irregular in the longitudinal direction by normally and reversely rotating the screw 26 before forming an image or when finishing forming an image.
