METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING DIGITAL SIGNAL

PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a digital signal is to reduce a direct current component by generating one or more level conversion by packet unit. CONSTITUTION: A method for transmitting a digital signal through an optic cable comprises the steps of: subtracting a bit number of second logic value from a bit number of first logic value in serial digital signals transmitted up to now and obtaining an accumulated direct current value; subtracting the bit number of the second logic value from the bit number of the first logic value in the serial digital signals of N-bit packet to be transmitted presently and obtaining a current direct current value; converting the serial digital signals of the N-bit packet to be transmitted presently, according to the accumulated direct current value and the current direct current value; embedding at least one bit in the serial digital signals of the N-bit packet to be transmitted presently and generating the serial digital signals of at least N+1 bit packet; converting the serial digital signals of the generated at least N+1 bit packet into light signals; and transmitting the converted light signals through the optic cable.
