摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To circumvent a situation in an optical communication system which compels to retransmit from the first data caused by the termination of communication halfway or continued erroneous data transmission in the case the reception intensity of a reception signal is decreased, by retaining the communication in a temporary halt condition. SOLUTION: An infrared communication system includes; a receiver 1 for receiving an infrared signal; a transmitter 8 for transmitting the infrared signal; a reception intensity detector 2 for detecting the reception intensity of the infrared signal received in the receiver 1; and a communication controller 5 for controlling to transmit from the transmitter 8 a signal requesting the information processor on the opposite communication party to temporarily halt the communication and to send a reception intensity detection signal in the case the reception intensity does not exceed a predetermined second reference value for a predetermined duration after the reception intensity falls down below a predetermined first reference value.
